Got the millions to spend on the most popular sports cars in the auto world? Many don’t see the need to spend that much, but there are really some who will go out of their way and buy one! Imagine, in 1931, there were a respectable number of Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe sold for $8,700,000! Can you do that? Spend more than 8 million of your hard-earned dollars for just one automobile? To some, it is a waste of money. Ten out of ten, the expensive super car will stay more in the garage than outside. But to supercars’ enthusiasts and collectors, it is one of the best investments they can come up with.
Here is the Forbes’ list of the recent most expensive super cars in the United States. Further researches though have showed that the same list have been dominating the sports class category since 2006. This only means that automakers have truly embarked on the low-cost and more efficient sports cars since the 2006 production date. That goes to say too that campaigns for more fuel economical automobiles have been taken into consideration seriously by these same manufacturers and even the others as well.

10. Maybach 57 S
Making it to the top ten is the German manufactured Maybach 57 S, which is the successor of the 57 and 62 versions. This highly expensive luxury saloon sports a V12 Bi-Turbo engine that makes as much as 612 HP, is among the most sought after exotic car in both the European and US markets. Why not if it can provide top speeds of 170 meters per hour and 275 kilometres per hour, making it one of the sporty handled models of its marquee? This is why it can be lined up with the major American and European supercar makes.
The Maybach 57 S is probably what every exotic car enthusiast and fanatic would want to have in their garage as well as to grind under them. You yourself can own one of this high performing but definitely elegant and fabulous Maybach 57 S in exchange of your grand $367,000!
9. Maybach 62

It may seem that Maybachs are making too big a name in the Forbes’ most expensive exotic cars as the Maybach 62 makes it also to the list’s ninth place. If we can only spare the list from the same marquees, we should have. But we want to maintain fairness and honesty in our list so let us have it in the same way that Forbes listed it.
There is some confusion over the ranking of Maybach 62 and McLaren SLR when it comes to pricing though. In the US official reports, Maybach 62 made it to the ninth place while SLR made it to the seventh. In Europe, on the other hand, these two exchanged positions since the European version of the Maybach 62 is significantly more expensive than its US version. But since we are dealing with the list that came from Forbes, we will follow the US reported prices.
With that, the 4-door sedan of Maybach have made it to the ninth place—the US version Maybach 62! This beauty costs 385,250! Although it is not as powerful as its sibling, the Maybach 57 S, it is significantly larger and roomy without taking away the elegance that is the trademark of its make. This Mercedes Benz baby features 12 cylinders, SOHC, 5.5 liters engine that can produce tremendous power of 543 HP! That result is definitely stunning for a sedan of elegance and beauty.
8. Porsche Carrera GT

Next to the list is the Porsche Carrera GT with its real high price of $440,000! This pure bred sports car demonstrates the fusion of beauty and high performance that any enthusiast will really love to have. The Carrera GT sports a powerful V-10 DOHC 5.7 liters engine that can produce as much as 600 HP. This top German model displays total performance, reaching its first 0-60 meters per hour in just a matter of 3.9 seconds. Lining up with the supercars is its 209 meters per hour top speed that is achievable even with all the comforts known to every Porsche sports car!
There is just a bit of issue with this super car though. Major auto portals have already confirmed that Porsche have already stopped selling this grand sporty machine, while Porsche still claims that it is still available for the US market. This issue though, is not to affect the Forbes list so we might as well just follow the reports of the current ranking of these automobiles. Thus, it will remain at the eight spot until further noticed by its maker as well as by the official tally sheet from Forbes.
7. Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren

Still owning the seventh place for some time now is the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren. This model has become a reality through the fusion of the two major automobile makers, Mercedes Benz and McLaren, in their pursuit to give the world the most exotic cars in the whole wide world. There are two versions of this super car; the British and the US. The British is slightly lower priced than that of the ninth placer Maybach 62, while this US version is definitely higher than the same marquee’s US version. Averaging at $452,750, the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren is a true treasure to own. It is the fastest automatic transmission GT sports car in the auto world. It can unleash 207 meters per hour top speed while reaching its first 0 to 60 meters per hour in just 3.8 seconds.
The fusion of Mercedes Benz and McLaren is really fantastic. Mercedes Benz being highly sophisticated while McLaren being one of the well known performance and race cars manufacturer. In the next years, the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren will probably be retaining its place or may be replaced by its own successor, the Mercedes Benz SLR 722 Edition. This only means that both Mercedes Benz and McLaren enthusiasts and fanatics are to enjoy the same high performance makes and models in the years to come. Aren’t you excited with that progress?

1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4

If you will recall, Bugatti Royalle Kellner Coupe had cost 8.7 million dollars in 1931. That was the most expensive exotic car in those years! Now, this manufacturer is still the highest priced–$1,192,060 for its sleek and elegant Bugatti Veyron 16.4! The more reason there is for us to understand why the Euro made automobiles are always identified as the best looking, best performing automobiles. Can you imagine yourself shelling out that amount for one of these models?
But the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is not all beauty and luxury; it is in fact the fastest exotic car in the auto world! This European sports car can reach top speed of more than 253 meters per hour while reaching its 0-60 meters per hour in just a matter of 2,5 seconds. Suffice it to say that we are to probably see the same makes and even models in this list over and over again as this list had been the same two years ago.
