Cadillac Converj: Does it Look Like a Lambo To You?

A lambo? Oh no, this is the All-American Cadillac Converj! This handsome ride is equipped with GM’s patented electric technology know as Voltec. Designed for the everyday commuter, Converj can take you to 40 miles of travel strictly powered by electricity. This is chargeable at any 120 outlet and takes only 8 hours to complete the cycle. The commute can support 100 miles per hour top speed and a top power of 120 KW.

In the future, it is expected that GM will produce more luxurious and powerful Voltec vehicles for a more practical use.

Rides To Watch

Rides To Watch

Just like my new engineered jeans that clings and fit at the right places in every move, automobiles are expected to be shaped and adhere to the requirements of the driving public. These requirements are also what US President Barack Obama wants to see on the streets before his term ends. He wants every American drive environmental friendly car without compromising their comfort and convenience.

In the next 4 years, we will be seeing a lot of hybrids and electric cars, as well as combination of both. That was already what the F3 of BYD launched earlier. For sure, there will be so a lot to follow from American and European automakers.

I have here 5 cars projected to be driven by us in 2014, which I will feature one by one in the next days. Among will be Alfa Romeo’s Milano, BMW’s X1, BYD’s F3DM, Cadillac Converj, and Ford C-Max. Want some drive test?

Best & Worst: 2009 North American International Auto Show

Best & Worst: 2009 North American International Auto Show

<We have witnessed best and worst dressed artists in every awards night; why not give the same award to automobiles that shows off in every auto show? And to start up, we can roll it out in the recent $3 million charity grosses— the 2009 North American International Auto Show held last January 12 to January 27, 2009 at Cobo Center!

MOST ANACHRONISTIC VEHICLE

This award goes to… Mercury Grand Marquis! Its rear-wheel drive design is about 50 years old by now, can you imagine that? But mind you, it is still making big money! It only means that its here to stay due to public demand so let us not try criticizing the makers. It even has a Ford version under the badge name Crown Victoria, which is manufactured for police and fleet cars. Another is the Lincoln Town car that is in contract with limo fleets.

MOST ANACHRONISTIC BRAND

This next award goes to… Hummer! The design of this highly reliable off-road utility vehicle is believed to be overdone; but for the purpose, is still very relevant. But then, because of its going superfluous designing, it is now becoming an eyesore for most automobile enthusiasts.

MOST INCONGRUOUS

The Bentley Continental is among the beautiful models from this top maker. But the use of bio-fuel is making it out of place in the pool of powerful automobiles!

MOST DEPRESSING

Its surprising how Chrysler has fallen from being the most bold and brash in events and displays, it came up in Cobo Center unadorned. Hence, it just earned its most depressing award from us here!

BEST DESIGNED DISPLAY

The overall architecture and selected spread of cars of the Audi booth made it more inviting to visitors and the media. All these played very well with the bright and nicely balanced colors of well shaped cars. This is why it is just right to give the Best Designed Display to Audi!

MOST FUN DISPLAY

Every time in auto shows, Mini always offer the fun and exotic feeling of owning and/or riding a Mini. This year, it made an ice-block house for parking its racing edition, the sport wagon, and the convertible.

MOST SIGNIFICANT VEHICLE INTRODUCTION

With the gloomy economy enveloping us globally, the fuel economy of Ford Fusion hybrid rated at 40 miles per gallon is very interesting! That is why this year; it should be awarded the most significant vehicle introduction award!

BEST CONCEPT CAR

There had been too many concept cars introduced in the recent North American International Auto Show but there is certainly one that captured everyone’s eyes—the Cadillac Converj. This all-American car features an innovative propulsion technology of Voltec with full Cadillac-like design. This concept is Cadillac’s idea of luxury meeting technology!

MOST IMPROVED

The Tesla and Frisker win this award with contract in-hand electric power units’ production for Smart Fortwo electric and attainable pricing for a luxury sport sedan, respectively. These Silicon Valley-sourced electric cars are the most improved cards in this year’s North American International Auto Show.

MOST UNEXPECTED

2009 North American Auto Show hosted Dr. Gary Kaberle’s privately owned and designed Alfa Romeo Bat car. This is realized with the help of the Bertone, an Italian Design firm. This is a first in this auto show, just to receive the Most Unexpected Award!

Now, isnt it fun to do our own sort of Best and Worst thing? Let us try it again at the next auto shows, Detroit and Chicago! Till then!

The Presidential Entourage

The Presidential Entourage

So what did the newly inaugurated President Barack Obama rode to reach the highest point of his political career? Well, as any young and successful politician, he drove around a V8 HEMI Chrysler 300C for a while. It was nothing fancy as a sports car but the performance was close to one. It can make as much as 370 horsepower, which became a great issue during the party’s presidential campaign. This is so because he was among the major endorsers of alternative and green automobiles. With that happening, he favored the Ford Escape then. That made him consistent with the calls for automobile makers to keep on making nothing but fuel economic as well as alternative fuel engineered vehicles.

THE CHRYSLER 300C

Moving just a notch higher than the base model 300, the highest quality of luxury sedans’ 300C sports a standard HEMI V8. Laid out with either a rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive, it is what most luxurious high-performance automobiles usually quote under sports cars. Only that, they are not really. These types of vehicles fall under the category of luxurious, high-performance sedan. The Chrysler 300C sports 370 hp 5.7 liters engine and five-speed automatic transmission, a real runner in chaos times!

The HEMI V8 of Obama’s ex-ride is capable of shutting down its selected cylinders on its own (known as intelligent shut-down) when cruising at low-load conditions. This is a high-end way of conserving gas, and maybe the reason why Obama favored it the first time.

Other significant features in the Chrysler 300C are its SmartBeam headlamps that automatically dim when there is an on-coming traffic, four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes for fast and efficient stopping power, traction control for efficient handling and ride quality, and an electronic stability control system to enhance safety.

The five-star NHTSA rates granted to the Chrysler 300C for its front-crash tests must be another thing that really got to Obama. Well, why not? Everyone wants to have the safest ride of all time. But above everyone else, a man of power who has more reasons to live for will surely opt for the best protected posh but sporty automobile of all.

Being criticized over his gasoline-thirsty V8 HEMI had smeared Obama and his campaigns over fuel economy, which also almost sent his voters to go the other way. But how meager will that cost if it’s the only thing that will keep him from being the world’s most powerful nation’s next leader? President Barack Obama then joined his colleagues John Edwards, Sens. Christopher Dodd and Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Govs. Mitt Romney and Bill Richardson and switch to the Ford Eacape hybrid.

FORD ESCAPE HYBRID

Ford Escape continuously upholds its rank as the unsurpassed fuel economy within its small sports utility vehicle class of all times. It has an EPA estimated 22 city and 28 highway mpg with its I4 manual front wheel drive (FWD). The new futuristic vehicle features performance, lavish and stylistic design, top technology, and safety. All these in one grand ride, just what a man of high position would want for an entourage.

Aside from the Ford Escape’s unsurpassed fuel economy, it is also equipped with every high-end parts and devices. It got new 6-speed transmission, big towing capacity, improved handling, and 240 hp Duratec V6. This model, which is the favorite of almost all of the presidential hopefuls stated above, uses the most unique technologies in the auto world. Some of these are known and patented only to Ford, like SYNC voice technology, voice-activated navigation, entertainment systems, intelligent 4WD, and ambient lighting.

Although those performance and technologies won’t be easily visible in the eye of passersby or spectators, the Ford Escape’s design can speak of it all. It has a styling that can surely draw not only second but third looks. Grand features are its moon roof, wet trunk, roof rack, spacious seating and cargo spaces, and its eco-friendly seats.

That’s not all about the Ford Escape though. If Obama’s ex-ride had gained the maximum rate for front-crash tests, his new ride features only the best safety equipments known to the industry. It got an AdvanceTrac with RSC safety technology, anti-lock brakes, airbag coverage, and heated side mirrors that will really bring every owner or driver peace of mind while cruising on different extreme conditions.

From the luxurious Chrysler 300C to the Ford Escape Hybrid for his personal ride, President Barack Obama is now to be taken to places by his new presidential Cadillac limousine. Cadillac has always been the countries official drive, and limousines had always been every president’s ride for as long as serving the country. But every president got his own new limousine, which for Obama is going to be a replacement to the DTS. That model was rolled out in 2004 to be ex-president George Bush’s ride for his 4-year term.

CADILLAC LIMOUSINE

To date, the White House is not to discuss the specifics of the new President’s Cadillac limousine. Well, what they just said was its going to be a Caddy. Further questions lead the manufacturer to give some of the specifics. The design will going to be new although its going to have quick resemblances to its predecessor, 2004’s DTS, as well as to the CTS and Escalade. This limo though, is going to be more upright than the late 2004 Presidential ride while is sure to have the same footprint on the road and size as well as proportion.

Other simple details like the embroidered presidential seal at the center of the rear seatback panel and the US flag mounted on the right front were also given out to the media. For now, that was all Cadillac has given the public to gnaw until it becomes at large in the chief-executive’s future home, the White House or around his office. It is also going to be first seen during the inaugural parade, which is to happen right after the inaugural speech. All important details were cut back from the knowledge of the public for the President’s security.

The main feature is that the new design is going to be capable to repel and even withstand attacks. Although this has not been confirmed from the spokespersons in the security or of the automaker, this speculation can be claimed to be possible.

The new President of the United States may have started out of line with regards to his fuel economic advocacies for owning one of the thirstiest luxury sedans that was good enough to be a sports car. But now that he has corrected himself, its just means that he is humble enough to accept he was wrong and willing to go for what is right. He could have kept it for what its worth but he didn’t. He’s a man of democracy but he knows when to be strong and when to stop in doing what he wants. That mentality is something very admirable for a person of ideals. And that is why I really opt to provide this space for the man. You may have even notice that I am just making a trying hard relevance to the theme of this site but you are right! I’m an Obama fan!
