In his own words, “Halekulani is an independent international luxury brand that appeals to the style, sensibility and needs of the globally affluent, it is only befitting that Halekulani offer the world’s finest automobiles”. So only the rich and the famous get a hold of these automobiles. But wait, they are not even gonna sweat it out because they will also be offered with personal chauffeur as soon as they request for the Maserati or the Bentley. This offer will also be made upon checking in. So if one is on for a GPS island thematic tour, better ask for the Lotus collection.

Aside from the exotic island and resort, the unique services and suites in Halekulani, Waikiki, the chain of unparalleled automotive works of art automobiles become one of the main attraction in coming to the island. If you are a vacationing rich man or woman or with family or friends, why would you care so much about the ride you will get? Come to think of the comfort and convenience that you get for having a Bentley for a ride or the gush of adrenaline with the Maserati or Lotus collection supercars? That will definitely make your $7,000 a night worth on top of the class suite and luscious food of course. The challenge now is to pick the best ride, but which of which should it be?
Let us see:

Maserati Gran Turismo- the Grand Turismo is a 2+2 coupe that was presented in the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007 by the Italian designer Jason Castriota under Pininfarina for the Maserati marquee. This edition sports a 4.2 liters or 4,244 cc 259 cu in 90° V8 engine. It can produce as much power as 405 PS or 399 hp/298 kW at 7,100 rpm. It can also churn at 460 N•m or 339 lb•ft at 4,750 rpm torque. It can achieve a top speed of 285 km/h or 177 mph with the first 0-62 mph acceleration within 5.0 seconds. Its first 1/4 mi acceleration can be reached within 13.4 seconds and its first 1 mi acceleration in 23.9 seconds. The sports car has a drag coefficient of 0.33.
Its convertible edition was first seen during the 2008 Geneva Motor Show and will be available in the market this year. Although reports have not confirmed that Halekulani has it in its collection but I want to believe they already have it. This edition is equipped with a 4.7 liters or 4,691 cc 286 cu in 90° V8 engine. It has a maximum power of 439 PS or 433 hp/323 kW at 7,000 rpm and a torque of 490 N•m or 361 lb•ft at 4,750 rpm. It can unleash a top speed of 295 km/h or 183 mph with the first 0-62 mph acceleration achieved within 4.93 seconds. The first 1/4 mi acceleration can also be reached in 12.97 seconds and the first 1 mi acceleration in 23.23 seconds.

Bentley Continental GTC-The Bentley Continental GTC is a convertible version of the two-door, 2+2 seats grand touring coupe Continental GT first introduced in 2003. The convertible was first introduced in September 2005 and was made available in most markets in the fall of 2006. Although it is pretty similar to the GT, it has a differently designed roof that was the brain child of Karmann Osnabrück, Germany. The convertible sports a 6.0 liters twin-turbocharged W12 engine, which can produce 552 hp or 412 kW and a top speed of 198 mph or 319 km/h. the entire design of the GT, which is the parent version of the GTC was designed by Dirk van Braeckel, a Belgian stylist on the Volkswagen Group D1 platform.

Lotus Elise – 1994 is the birth year of one of the beauteous roadsters in the beautiful collections of Lotus—the Elise. But it took another two years before it was released in September of 1996. The car’s body shell is hand-finished with fiberglass while an extrusion of aluminum is also added for more durability and style. It has a bonded frame that makes for a rigid platform for its suspension, which also answers for the sheer rde experience it is about to provide every driver and passenger. Even with that top of the craft composition, the Lotus Elise have stayed to be lightweight and net of the hefty price tag that you will expect for the same materials made-from coupes and cars. On top of the beauty and class of the Elise, it is a supercar that can display as much as 240 km/h or 150 mph.
There were two series or sub models for this roadster. The first sprted a 1.8 L Rover K-Series I4 with 5-speed manual transmission and designed by Julian Thomson. The series 2 comes in different choices of engines like 1.8 L Rover K-Series I4, 1.8 L Toyota 1ZZ-FE I4, and 1.8 L Toyota 2ZZ-GE I4 with 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions. The Elise was taken from Lotus Chairman Romano Artioli’s granddaughter, ‘Elisa’.

Lotus Exige S- Unveiled in 2000, the Lotus Exige, pronounced as /ɛxzij/ is a two-door, two-seat sports coupe version of the Lotus Elise. It sports a 1.8 L Rover K Series engine in VHPD (Very High Performance Derivative) tune that can produce around 177 bhp or 132 kW; 179 PS in standard form and 192 bhp or 143 kW; 195 PS in the “track spec” version. There were two versions of the Exige S, the original 2000 launched and the Exige 2 launched in 2004. This newer version sports a Toyota supplied 1796 cc I-4, DOHC with VVTL-i (variable valve timing with lift intelligence). It has a bore/Stroke of 82 mm/85 mm. It can produce 190 hp or 142 kW @ 7800 rpm with 138 ft•lbf or 187 N•m @ 6800 rpm. It has a compression ratio of 11.5:1.
After reviewing all these unparalleled exotic ‘Art in Motion’ cars, and I mean only those that were specified in the reports, I am now more messed up than before. I couldn’t really point which supercar will be best for touring the beautiful island of Halekulani. It could have been easier if all of these are good for use to every guest, like say one for a different day. But maybe that wouldn’t fit and probably too much for the hotel to provide.
I have a good suggestion to make though, in choosing which ride to request as soon as you check in the resort’s top suites. Your purpose will surely be a good reason for choosing which of the many you want. If you think companion will make a good addition to the crowd or to you, then opt for the Maserati or Bentley that will provide a chauffeur as a guide. But if you wish to be alone and enjoy the solitude of the ride, you can opt for any of the Lotus collections offered as your free service. Sounds good to you? It does to me! LOL.. Another is your skills. If you think you can drive a supercar, and then opt for the Lotus collection. If you think you cannot or you actually don’t drive a car then opt for those that have chauffeurs.
But anyway, whichever of these cars will surely make for the best ride while in the island. Besides, it is not just the car you wish to drive why you are in the island. It is supposed to be a vacation and you have to enjoy it with or without any of these exotic rides.
